My parents love this place for their buck a shuck night, but I've only been for lunch. Moody/tavern decor, comfortable booths, and quick service. We shared sandwiches and soups and had a nice meal. Definitely true to type of a tavern

Girlfriend and I stopped here Wednesday just to get a drink, but ended up staying for the food. Our server Charlie informed us that, since it was happy hour, clams and oysters were buck-a-shuck. We got a dozen oysters which, we were informed, were from Maryland. They were outstanding- so good, we got a second dozen. Girlfriend got a mushroom-crab bisque, which was as delicious as it looked. I got the wedge salad, which was delicious. Everything was top notch. Great service, great atmosphere, prices were reasonable. We wouldn't hesitate to come back.

The menu here is unique and extensive. It is hard to pick one thing! Both my mom and I went for the filet mignon cheesesteak. It was delicious and the fries were very good too. My sister got truffle fries, and I found myself stealing them. There's quite a few things on this menu I'd like to come back to try! Our server was kind and attentive. There was a large group of people from a Longwood Gardens trip and our food still came out pretty quickly. Feels like a tavern bit also has a bit of a fancy energy to it as well!

We stopped in for happy hour, our first time trying Chadds Ford Tavern. We sat at a high top in the bar area and were quickly greeted by Kathy who was so friendly and helpful! She gave us the quick rundown: happy hour is every day from 4-6pm and you can order from the HH menu anywhere in the restaurant. There are also specials each day of the week. We tried: oysters, shrimp cocktail, Buffalo/sweet chili wings (you can split the flavors on the order!), wedge salad, and peach bread pudding. All were great, I can't even pick a standout! Just kept ordering to try more. Homemade chips and dip were served too. Dirty tavern martini and old fashioned were good cocktails (the entire drink menu is 1/2 off for HH). Upscale rustic vibe.

I'm the only one of the 3 of us that was disappointed in their dinner. The Salmon & Shrimp as well as the fried Chicken dinner were enjoyed. I thought the chicken was on the greasy-side. I love risotto which is why I was steered toward the Crab Cakes since that was the side served with that dish. It didn't have the right consistency meaning it didn't have the distinct bite it should - it was more like rice with a corn cream sauce. Sorry to say that the crab cake was also a disappointment with it being as much filler as crab. If in the area again I would give it another try.
